Hotel 1001 Malam - Yogyakarta

Really nice staff who work hard to accommodate. Location good if you want to do sight seen and shopping. Perhaps not best place for going out, as nice bars, clubs and restaurants seem to be in the north side of town.

A great hotel at a great location. A wonderful private seating area in front of each room, and a lovely small but very green courtyard. Staff very helpful.

Loved the decor and wall paintings in the room. The room was very clean. Great location, close to many restaurants and shops. Staff were very helpful with organizing a day trip to the Borobudur and Prambanan temples.

Everything was great. It felt relaxed and friendly, looked green and fresh, is in a great location, and had a lovely Indonesian feel about it - complete with batik sheets.

The hotel is located in nice quiet spot away from main street. There are a few restaurants and travel agents nearby. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

The hotel didn't have any table, drawers or chairs in the room but have a table and chair outside. However the staff were helpful to find a side table from another room. Also no tv and fridge in the room. For lesser price in bigger cities like Bangkok can have all these plus more spacious room. Perhaps this it the standard in Yogyakarta.

The garden courtyard, interesting decor in the rooms and the friendly atmosphere elevated this hotel above the average. Situated in a narrow, pedestrian-only street with a couple of reasonable restaurants and close to the main shopping street of Malioboro.

The wash basin in the room drains onto the floor of the shower/toilet (not unusual in Indonesia, it seems) but the smell of the drain pipe was overpowering. A little bleach would go a long way.

A nice basic clean quiet, comfortable and friendly hotel located on a small alleyway. Staff were friendly and helpful. Several good quality and inexpensive restaurants nearby.

Charming and delightful place to stay. Location is excellent. Would definitely recommend it. A couple of nice restaurants across from the hotel that I also recommend.

The hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful, excellent services would like to stay there if I am in Jogja.

Nice looking rooms, great location. Hotel offers not just rooms, but extra seats in a small roof-garden (with free coffee or tea). Perfect place to stay for a couple of days.

The hotel is very cozy and well situated in the town center. Room is fine decorated. Several Restaurants just across the street. The staff is helpful and pleasant. I did like staying there.

Stairs to 2nd floor are quite steep. Not easy for tired persons. Some convenience improvements are desired, like: Lights by the mirror are behind the head, cannot really see face while shaving. No soap tray in shower. Only one el-outlet by bed and it is used for the lamp. So either light or cellphone charging. No night tables by bed. So, eyeglasses and books have to be on the floor. Otherwise, very acceptable

1. overrated .. not that valuable 2. required some walks to shopping street, 10 mins 3. hotel is in a little road in which no car can be driven inside, and it means you have to carry your luggage yourself for 100-200 meters 4. very small, old, dirty room .. i found bugs, a small scorpion, mosquito, etc. 5. I booked this hotel at $45/night, in which I should be able to find a better one around there .. not a good price at all 6. the airport return by taxi was charged at 70,000 IDR .. ripped off. 7. I chose to pay hotel room with 100 USD note but she said 'no change in USD', so she would give change in IDR at the rate of USD1=IDR9500. -- then I asked what if I paid in IDR ?? she said the total would be USD45 x IDR9800 !!! Another Ripped Off Again !! Conclusion: Don't stay here!! Over-rated !!

Nice cosy ambience and excellent English speaking staff.

1. When I booked through your website, I used my credit card to confirm the booking, but on arrival the hotel said they prefer cash as their credit card machine "isn't working". This is untrue of course, they just want to charge another 3% on top of the total bill - I paid using my credit card as I did not carry so much cash with me (over usd800 for 4 rooms). I think this is most unfair and you should warn all hotels that they shouldn't charge extra for credit card payment. 2. The lighting in the rooms are too dim for any kind of reading.
